Kent U13 T&F Championships 2019

Some great performances this weekend at the Kent U13 Champs at Erith (Sept 14th-15th), writes Darrell Smith.

The weekend started well with a 6th place by Emily Holden in the Girls Shot Putt in a fine 7.14m, just outside her pb.

Alex Evans Wilson had a great Championships. In the space of an hour he placed 5th in the Long Jump with a pb of 4.09 and 8th in the Discus with a throw of 16.09m, also a pb.

Also in the Long Jump Kristian Elphick-Mutru placed 8th with a pb of 3.80 as well running 100m 14.87 in his 100m Heat. In the Boys 100m James Beecroft ran a pb in his heat running 12.9 later placing 5th in the 100m Final.

On the Sunday Maisy Aherne progressed to the Semi Final of the 75m running 11.04 in her heat and placing 8th in the Semi Final. In the High Jump Hannah Galligan jumped 1.30cm to place 5th in the Final.

These results are the best by the Club and mark the end of a great season.

SAC at Eridge 10 2019

Heather Fitzmaurice was third and first W45 at the Eridge 10 on 1st September.

While the race preferences of Sevenoaks AC runners were split between this race and the Weald 10k, the lure of beer and cake afterwards was the determining factor for some of our athletes.

John Witton led the fourteen SAC runners home in a brilliant 10th place, closely followed by Ed Saunders in 15th and Andrew Hutchinson in 16th.

SAC at Weald 10k 2019

Start

Guillaume Nineven was second, Lee Lintern third, Graham Cook fourth and first M40, Nick Humphrey-Taylor fifth and second M40, Andrew Mead first M50, Zachary Ramsden second M50, Lionel Steilow first M70, Sally Shewell second W55 and Simon Hallpike second M60 as 13 SAC runners tackled the Weald 10k on 1st September.
