| Sevenoaks AC (Virtual) Handicap May 2020 |
 Andy Ashlee became the first and only runner so far to beat his handicap since the Sevenoaks AC 2020 handicap series became virtual starting with the April race. Ashlee ran the fastest time in the May event of 33:22 to win the race by just over four minutes.Lucy Wilkes in second place was the fastest woman in the race for the second time in succession, running 44:38 to finish twenty-two seconds ahead of Dan Witt in third. Witt was second fastest overall with 34:00, while Andrew Mead fourth in 34:29, Jim Knight fifth in 48:38 and Duncan Warwick-Champion sixth in 45:07, were also running well. Once again, far-east-based Sam Znetyniak's run by Sentosa Cove in Singapore (57:38 for tenth place) was the furthest from the normal route in Sevenoaks. Seven runners have so far registered the necessary four scoring races to figure in the series rankings, but current leader Lucy Wilkes' score of 10 points has often been enough to win the series in previous years. Wilkes currently leads second-placed Andrew Mead by seven points, with Lesley Knight another nine points behind in third. However, in 2020 there are still another seven races to go. The sixth race of the 2020 series is over the alternate seven mile distance. Any run of around 7 miles/11 kilometres can be submitted between 1st and 30th June. Handicaps for participants in the last twelve months are here but newcomers are also very welcome to take part. |
