| Sevenoaks AC Handicap May 2021 |

Pauline Dalton easily won the May race as the Sevenoaks AC handicap returned to a live event for the first time since March 2020. There were also some virtual contenders but the live racers dominated the event. None more so than Dalton as she finished five minutes clear and beat her handicap by six-and-a-half minutes in a time of 38:30. Second place saw a return after a long injury from John Denyer, as the club's senior speed coach beat his handicap by eighty-seven seconds for a time of 40:03 over the hilly five-mile course. Chris Desmond was another minute-and-a-half back in third place in 37:22, doing just enough to hold off Graham Dwyer (36:44) by two seconds. In fifth place, Andrew Mead ran the fastest time in the race of 32:48, while Pauline Dalton's 38:30 was the fastest women's time. Eleven runners have so far registered the necessary four scoring races to figure in the 2021 series rankings, although current leader Dan Witt's score of 13 points has never been enough to win the series in previous years. Witt currently leads second-placed Graham Dwyer by two points, with last year's runner-up Lucy Wilkes another four points behind in third. However, in 2021 there are still another seven races to go. The sixth race of the 2021 series is over the alternate seven mile distance. It starts from the Sevenoaks School track at 08:30 on Sunday 27th June.
