Sevenoaks School — track in summer, gym in winter
Every week at Sevenoaks School. Track and Knole in summer, gym in winter, and races through the year.
Junior sessions are led by qualified coaches, with support from parent helpers.
Extra pairs of hands are always welcome, particularly with our younger athletes. If you would like to help at sessions or are interested in getting involved with coaching, speak to our Head Coach, Darrell Smith.
Junior athletes have opportunities to compete throughout the year in both cross country and track and field.
The Kent Young Athletes League provides age group track and field competition during the summer, with a full programme of running, jumping and throwing events.
There are also opportunities to compete in county championships and, as athletes progress, at regional and national level.
A junior presentation is held each year, recognising achievements across the junior section with medals and certificates at every level.
No specialist kit is needed for training. Wear comfortable sports clothing and trainers suitable for athletics, and bring a drink and a warm layer for the end of the session.
There is no need to buy spikes when you first start.
Junior members receive a blue Sevenoaks AC T shirt which can be worn for training and Sportshall Athletics.
