The last meeting in the 2015 Kent SCVAC league athletics series was held at Gillingham on Friday 10 July, and Sevenoaks AC successfully held onto third place for the series in Division 2, whilst improving our standing as at the last competition. Our score of 53 points for the meeting was nearly twice that of our rivals, Swanley AC, and gave us third place for the evening as well as the series. This is the best which can be achieved without being promoted to Division 1, and is probably the most favourable outcome for our future competition.
Ron Denney ran the second fastest club time for an M75 at the annual club mile track race on 9th July. Joe Parsons won the race. The full results are here.
Tony Ostlere won the seventh stage race of the Sevenoaks AC 2015 handicap series as six runners beat their handicaps despite strong winds. But Jane Morgan retains the series lead by eight points. The details are here.
Attached are the results of the Knole House Relay of 30 June which was won by Team 6 - Clair Thornton, Hugh Brennan and Keith Brown. In second place was the all girl team of Kim Pegg, Nicki Thompson and Kate Wills who only just managed to hold off the fast finishing David Ives by 2 seconds.
As usual we also produce a "fastest lap" ranking which was headed by David Ives in 4.36, and a "consistency" ranking based on the percentage variation in lap times from the first lap which was headed by Marco Mion.
Thanks to Jim and Lesley Knight for their help with the timing and results.
