Dan Driver won the sixth stage of the 2015 Sevenoaks AC handicap series by eighteen seconds from Sophie Lamb. The two leaders were well clear of the chasing runners and were together approaching the finish before Driver pulled away. The details are here.
I attach the results for our meeting at Canterbury on 1st June. Again, although with a smaller turnout, we managed to secure a successful third place in our division (fourth place in the overall series). This was by virtue of contesting every event for all age groups, even if it involved tackling something unfamiliar.
John O'Callaghan won the May handicap, while Chris Desmond moved into the series lead. The details are here.
If the 1st May competition was a matter of icing and no cake, the 11th May meeting had both in quantity, writes Geoffrey Kitchener. We fielded athletes in every event (even though some of us had not tried out a particular event before) and secured our best score for years, 71 points. This gave us third place in the competition, behind the teams who were in Division 1 last year; and in the series we advanced from last to fourth place.
